10 months agoI love the people who work here. They’ve been amazing. But the simple fact is, aside from being able to text a doctor anytime you want, (and sometimes not even hearing back), service is the same here as it is everywhere else. You’re allowed to need a little extra, but not more than that. There were times that they got me in quickly which was great. There were other times where they couldn’t even figure out how to order blood tests accurately. Causing me multiple headaches.I also erroneously went into this thinking that I would have a team of health professionals working with me on my health problems. That isn’t what this is. Not even remotely close. It’s quick referrals. Less friction when asking for things, compared to other doctors. And that’s about it. I have a complex series of symptoms and unexplained health issues. I’m no closer to understanding those than I was before I signed up. I effectively managed it all myself with a little supplemental assistance from them. But it was always easier to just order bloodwork online than deal with the hassles of going through them. In the end, my frustration with errors and misunderstandings made them start treating me like I was the problem. Once that kicks in, I’m out.

11 months agoIf interested in joining you will wait four weeks to get an introductory meeting with a doctor. Then, if you decide to join, and pay $4K, you have to wait another 1.5 to 2 months to actually see your doctor. You can see any GP in the UCSD system within 1-2 months…I dont see why anyone would pay $4k to wait 3 months to see a doctor. Also, if you want other appointments within UCSD system, you have to book them yourself...not sure what $4k/year actually gets you.UCSD Concierge Medicine = “join and wait 2 months to see your doctor”

a year agoThis is my second year using UCSD Concierge Medicine, and I've been quite satisfied. My GP is a great "quarterback" for my care and listens to my issues. I get more than the typical 15 minute appointment that I used to have outside of this group. The referrals to other physicians in the UCSD team have gone smoothly. The office staff is very responsive.

2 years agoI have great respect for my UCSD doctors outside of this “Concierge” network. However, in my experience, UCSD Concierge Medicine is a waste of time and money. Don’t waste either. There are very good reasons that three of their four locations have closed.
